As the end of the year has come and gone, we wanted to see 2023 a year in review. It’s easy to get caught up in the holiday commotion and miss the true meaning of the season. It’s easy to look and plan for the new year, next holiday , next promotion and miss the opportunity to celebrate the wins you have achieved. So today, we are celebrating… the wins, the fails and the people that were with us for the ride.
Like every year, 2023 had its struggles. On Halloween of 2022 we got access to our new location. We had to be out of our old storefront and only had the truck for one day. Thankfully we had helpers and muscle that made it possible to move all the inventory and furniture. We got settled into our new home and soon we were welcomed by Patti from the North Shore Business Improvement Association.
We quickly learned that our new location was going to become Wamaco’ s new home. We had a new location, new neighbors, and unlimited possibilities. We had gone from having nowhere to go, to a place we were excited about making our own.
After weeks of planning and organizing, the store started to take shape. The shelves in the warehouse were getting filled with products, the slatgrid panels were put on the walls in the front for displays, the desks and computers were put in their tentative homes, and we were connected to civilization.
The beginning for 2023 was exciting and scary. We now had a place that we could make our own. Wanda put her elegant touch on the store and made it beautiful AND functional. Yes, we had less space but with her vision and Jennifers strategic ideas, the storefront took shape.
After months of hard work and visualizing, the display came together. We were still open and helping our customers with a clearer picture of where we wanted to go.
In September we took a huge leap and held our Grand Re-opening. With hesitation, fear and uncertainty we put our hearts on our sleeves and welcomed B100’s Kayla Derkach and the NSBIA (North shore Business Improvement Association) to help us announce our new location, new brand and big plans for our New home. Not only did our customers show up for us but they made us feel an enormous amount of love and support for our next chapter. We had people online, on social media and in-store show up to help us create a successful event.
I can remember when we were planning and coordinating all the things that go into big announcements, one of Wanda’s big concerns was that only 50 people would come, and it would be a waste of time and money. Rochelle had big dreams and goals to accomplish with our announcement, and all of it was built around making sure her worries didn’t come true.
Our customers showed up! Quite literally! They came from near or far and took in our new surroundings. Our storefront is beautiful and like nothing they had seen from us before. Our neighbors were welcoming and even mother nature worked for us! It was a beautiful sunshine filled day!
We had now successfully launched our new brand and people were starting to know us by it. People were starting to realize that Rootze by Wamaco stands for quality, affordability, and our consumers peace of mind.
Now, when people hear “Rootze by Wamaco” they will know that we are here to help them grow their business by developing strong Rootze, and that’s something we’re proud of .
